Just a few steps away from the Champs-Elysées, the Beefbar Paris restaurant is a stunning interior design project by Humbert & Poyet, the top architects who brought to life the richness of this Art Noveau jewel. Let’s take a look!
After Monaco, Hong Kong and Mexico, the partnership between Ricardo Giraudi, creator of the Beefbar restaurant concept in 2005, and interior designers Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet continues.
During World War II, the old dining room of the Langham Hotel in Paris was bricked up to hide it from the Nazis because it housed a work of art created in 1898 by the architect Emil Hurtré and painted by Jules Wielhosrki.
Respect for this masterpiece was to be the linchpin of the project, but it was imperative that it be restored as it deserved. To do this, they brought together the best craftsmen, mirror makers, painters and decorators who were ready to once again give this jewel the splendor of times gone by.
This historical and aesthetic pattern inspired the studio, accustomed to creating elegant and special environments, to play on the contrast between the ancient and the extremely contemporary, “a love game between sobriety and eccentricity”, as they say themselves, repainting the imposing work in the spirit of ancient times in shades of green and bronze.
Saturated colors and modern furnishings contrast with the industrial ceiling and black and minimalist exterior. Art Nouveau-inspired carpets and Art Deco motifs, all a vivid nod to the city’s rich design history.
